I like the idea to create gardens everywhere, even on a table. Whenever I see the gardens inside of my house I feel uplifted. This is why I decided to create gardens for my clients as well. You will see more of those very soon.
There is poetry in the little things,
there is poetry in imperfection,
there is poetry in the moment of exploration.
Today I needed an inspiration for the grey moments in Brussels. As much as I sometimes don't like sitting in front of the computer, it can produce things, which in the long run are having a nourishing effect on the soul.
During the dull winter months I find it all the more enlightening to try out new things.
How about a tiny garden in a flower pot? This one has been birthing a porcelain bud.
There are all kinds of possibilities to be your own gardener in Brussels.
Going for a walk in the fresh autumn air. Can you hear the sound of the rustling leaves in the forest? Are you too enchanted by the musky smell of the decaying nature?
I find Autumn very explicit about the space between life and death, exuberance and dreaming.
Winter is now approaching on fast feet. Colors in the garden are becoming festive or mute or both and we will soon begin to focus more on our well-being inside of the house.
I am creating a new collection of poetic artworks inspired by nature to reconnect to the intimate garden inside of myself.
From time to time I create special things for my clients.
An artistic wall installation of handmade porcelain bowls is becoming a wall garden and especially delightful when shadow and light effects are playing with it. You can make it as ephemeral as you like, depending on the chosen plants.
Recently I went to visit the Garden of the Villa d'Este in Tivoli. It was in early June but already the heat was talking loudly. What a blessing then to walk within this poetic display of splendid fountains and to drop my hand here and there into the glistening cool wet. Water is nourishing our bodies and souls, especially when it is not falling out of the grey sky too often (as is the case in Belgium). The sound of a fountain, the reflection of the clouds in a pond, the gurgling of a small water stream - maybe these are sensations you are missing in your Garden?
Atelier Vierkant always amazes me with its stunning ceramics. Luckily the ceramics design company is based in Belgium and the couple who created it is most passionate about their work.
This collection most certainly takes my breath away. Congratulations! .. don't forget to look at their website and discover their artful ceramic planters.
